The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs has announced the signing of four cooperation agreements totaling over $7 million with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and the Afghanistan Rural Reconstruction Development Agency.
The agreements aim to provide essential support to displaced individuals, returnees, and host communities across several provinces.
According to a press release from the ministry, the funding will be allocated towards various initiatives, including cash distribution, shelter maintenance and improvement, and the provision of solar power kits. Additionally, the agreements will support capacity building and technical vocational training programs in Kabul, Herat, Farah, Nangarhar, Nuristan, and Kunar provinces.
These efforts are expected to benefit approximately 37,718 displaced individuals and returnees, alongside 860 families in need.
The agreements were signed by Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rashid, the Deputy Minister of Professional Affairs, alongside representatives from the partnering organizations.
